Draft Al Gore in CA: Calling All Gore Supporters to Serve Now!

Sat Nov 10, 2007 at 09:39:44 PM PDT

It is still possible that Al Gore will be the next President of the United States. Do you still want that to happen? Would you, if you thought it could? If Draft Al Gore efforts succeed in CA, NY, NJ, not to mention MA and NH write-in campaign, and Gore does not ask for his name to be removed from those ballots, then that will imply he is open to the draft effort. Having not opted-out, he will have an excellent chance of winning those three states, reversing the course of the race in an instant and giving him reason to answer the display of democracy. Gore has not asked the draft efforts to cease as he did in 2003, when he ruled out a 2004 bid. In response to questions of whether he could be drafted to run or serve, Gore dodged stating it had not happened since Eisenhower. That answer implies that although unlikely, if a successful draft effort were to manifest itself, one that would allow him to serve as President without having to be a candidate too early, then he will answer the call and serve.

But first, my friends, we must answer the call and serve. YOU must answer the call. We the people must take the lead on his behalf. Don't get me wrong there. Yes, Gore is a reluctant candidate. Yet I surmise he will be ready to serve when the people call him. So what can I do in CA?

California Draft Gore: Step up!

Tue Nov 06, 2007 at 05:10:31 PM PDT

I just received an email from Roy Gayhart who is heading up the effort in California to Draft Gore. Who knows, even if Gore does not decide to run, if he is on the NY, CA, and a few other states' ballots, he could pick up enough delegates to make a brokered convention possible.

Regardless, if you believe Al Gore will make the best President of the United States, and that we NEED him to stand and serve for so many reasons, you must step up and work and volunteer and get signatures between now and the deadline, which is the first week of December.

Here is the information sent out by CA Draft Gore. If you prefer not to contact your designated area volunteer, download the forms yourself, follow all the directions so as not to invalidate the signatures you do gather, and get to it!

If you have been gathering signatures, respond with your experiences, where are the best places to get the most signatures, etc. We can do this people!

Al Gore Rolling Stone Interview: A Global Leader With a Vision of the Future

Sat Nov 03, 2007 at 11:50:18 PM PDT

The November 15, 2007 40th Anniversary issue of Rolling Stone Magazine (pg 54)contains an interview of Al Gore on serious questions of where we are going as a country and a planet. The interview took place at Gore's Nashville home two days after the October 12 Nobel Peace Prize announcement. While he seems to be more clear than before that he is not running, his answers leave a glimmer of hope for 2008... I think the chances are low, and I may be going crazy, but I still think something does not quite add up. This diary is long, and for that I apologize.

Al Gore - Let's help push him over the top!

Sat Oct 13, 2007 at 10:26:15 AM PDT

In yesterday's press conference held at the Alliance for Climate Protection, Al did not issue a Shermanesque statement regarding the 2008 elections, he did not take any questions, and he ignored inquiries about any political plans. Now, on the day he is awarded the Nobel, it is understandable to not address politics in any way whatsoever. However, if he has decided not to run, he should issue a Sherman statement shortly. Until he does, he is still very much considering what his next step should be.

It is up to us in the Draft Gore movement to keep fanning the fire and use whatever energies we have to push Al over the edge and decide to heck with the pundits, he is going to run (a different kind of campaign) and win!

Did you catch Al Gore's teaser in the SF Gate interview the other day?

Thu Sep 20, 2007 at 09:20:48 PM PDT

I am worried that Gore will not run, but deep down I believe that he will.

At the Emmy Awards Al Gore dropped a hint in relation to Current, saying:

"More to come. Next month. Current.com"

He appeared on Jay Leno and mentioned a new launch on October 15th of Current.com, promising it will revolutionize how individuals use the web and television by promoting democratic participation.

Then on September 17th, Al Gore and his partner Joel Hyatt were interviewed by SF Gate, and Gore upped the ante considerably.
